I Have to Head Back to Move Forward…

So, I’m looking for a part-time job in order to bring in some more money so that my wife and I can start saving for our workshop.

A while back, my wife and I bought a large shed that we were going to convert into a tiny house, but circumstances changed and we were unable to start working on it. So, after I quit my job and began working on my art full-time, we decided that we could turn all or part of the shed into a workshop so that we could expand our workspace and get out of our bedroom.

My Online Shop Grand Opening…Again!

Online Shop

In February, 2021, I will be posting all of my artwork into my online shop for my grand (re)opening.

Why February and not January? I keep finding more things that I need, like having boxes for shipping. Pretty important! I’m going to do it, no matter the circumstances. I’ve grown tired of waiting around. As long as I have the basic items necessary to ship packages, I’m going to do it this time!

So, in February, everything’s up for grabs!

Artist Area: My Dream Studio

Getting to know a little about who I am and what I look for in an artist studio…

When I think of the studio that I want the most, I see a lot of space.

I love space.

Big room. High ceilings. Even a loft to look out over my studio from while sipping on my $8 dollar La Moneda Reserva Malbec (you should try it)… Continue reading Artist Area: My Dream Studio

Focusing on A Healthy Life

There’s nothing I want more than to always be here for my son.

As an artist, I sit on my butt a lot and I usually don’t like moving from my chair, especially when I have ideas flowing.

But I have constant problems with lower back pain, and I know without a doubt that it’s caused from sitting on my butt all day long.

So, my wife and I have been looking for an easy diet and exercise program or book that would help get our lives on track to a healthier life, and there’s one book that helped tremendously. Continue reading Focusing on A Healthy Life

What I’m Up To

Not a whole lot has changed really. Just cruising through life the best that I know how.

I’m still writing and drawing on my books, and I’m still creating artwork for my online stores, though I haven’t posted any new art yet.

I’ve been busy with work and trying to save some money to buy more art supplies, which is really hard nowadays it seems like.

I’ve been struggling with the decision to give up art for while in order to get things lined back up and save some cash. I don’t buy a whole of materials and what I do buy goes quickly, especially when my ideas are coming faster than I can get them onto a canvas or into Photoshop. Continue reading What I’m Up To

Art Materials — My Go-To Drawing Tools

I know a lot of people have a hard time deciding on which art supplies to use for drawing, thinking they need the most expensive supplies out there. But, in reality, all you need is a yellow #2 pencil (mine are black), a good eraser, and some paper.

But most of the time my artwork is digital, meaning I use a graphics tablet to draw inside editing software, like Photoshop, directly onto my computer. There are few graphics tablets out there, so the best advice I can give you is to do your research and find one that you would feel comfortable with and also fits within your budget if you have one.
