My new website went live and though there’s not much on the site, I just wanted to give people a chance to look around and give some feedback.
I really just wanted to publish the site and slowly start posting items as they were made. As of right now, I’m going to focus on earrings and digital prints. The prints are made from scanned physical pieces and someday soon the physical pieces will be available.
In the future, we will begin making soap and I can’t wait. I’ve been excited about making soap for a long time but, unfortunately, we just don’t have the space free from animals or space for our tools, which is not a lot, but it is when you have no space.
Our focus right now is slowly getting earrings made and posted for sale and saving money for our tiny house/shop. I have a part-time job and my wife works full-time, so we don’t have much time for working on things. Things are coming together very slowly, but that was the plan the whole time; take things slow and don’t rush into anything.
I’ve never been keen on asking for help financially, but I’m always being told that it doesn’t hurt to ask. So, if you or anyone you know is willing to help out, you can donate over on my Buy Me A Coffee page from $2 to whatever you want, or if you’re willing to become a monthly supporter, you can become a Daugherty’s Homemade member for $25/month.
We have huge plans for Daugherty’s Homemade including a physical shop on the property where we will sell soap, artwork, and some baked goods. But, that’s a distant plan; a dream plan. We’ll have to see how it goes.
If you become a member, you will receive free shipping on all orders as well an undetermined discount (most likely 25% off all orders). You will also get first dibs on all new items dropped into the online shop. More benefits will be added as we grow, which will extend to our physical shop as well.
Like I said, we’re taking things super slow. So, many things won’t take affect until we begin to grow our revenue and inventory, including the benefits. So be aware that if you become a member now you won’t get much until we begin growing and adding to our site.
So as weird as it makes me feel, we’re asking for your help. If you can’t help monetarily then we’re asking for your help in sharing our site, blog posts, Facebook posts, etc. Help us get the word out. As of right now we’re just asking for small donations from anyone that can help us grow our supplies and help us save to build our workshop.
In time, my wife and I will be able to quit our jobs and work full-time making and creating artwork, soap, and whatever comes to mind. We have many ideas for our shop.
This is something I’ve been dreaming of and working on for a long time. I won’t stop until it happens. Your donations and/or memberships won’t go unnoticed or unrewarded. We’re asking you to grow with us.
