Hato, niwikana! Hello, my friends!
I just wanted to give you some news on some changes and a few small upgrades happening here at Shawnee Rising Studios.
To help support Shawnee Rising Studios, you can become a member of my Patreon with a monthly contribution starting at just $1 a month! You can upgrade or cancel at anytime. If you don’t want to pledge for a month and just want to support what I do, then you can buy me a coffee! Yep, head over to buymeacoffee.com/shawneerising and you can donate, or buy me a coffee, for as little as $2.
The more I upgrade my equipment and am able to buy art supplies, the better my content will get, and the more I can share with you as I journey to become a full-time creator!
So, if you’re ready:
Exciting Changes
First, I’m now focusing 100% of my time on my art projects and trying to build my art career at home. I’ve quit my job and taken some time to focus on my art and my family. It was hard quitting my job after 7 years, but I’m so much happier being home to work on myself for a while. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while and I can only hope that this leads to a more peaceful and happier future for me and my family. This transition has felt a little strange, to say the least.
I wouldn’t change anything. I’m home with my son who is overjoyed that I get to be home with him. I put him on the bus in the morning and get him off the bus at the end of the day. I can watch him play sports and practice without having to rush home and worry about work the next day. I get to be home when my wife gets off work and cook her supper.
Also, I get to relax and unwind during the day and focus on my paintings or beading some earrings. I’m up with the sunrise and I get to give thanks to Creator for the day and for my family. I have been given a gift that many people don’t get and I’m very grateful for that.

Small Upgrades
I also wanted to give an update on The Shawnee Rising Podcast, as my break has stretched out a little longer than I wanted. But I’m waiting on the last few pieces for my new mixer to come in. The shipping has been a little delayed and it will be another week before they get in. I’m patiently waiting and hoping that they ship fast, as the new season of my podcast is overdue.
I’m trading in my Blu Yeti Nano for an Audio-Technica AT2005USB microphone and I’m plugging that into the new Mix8 8-Channel Compact Mixer from Mackie using an XLR cable. This is a brand new setup for me. I’m used to USB microphones and just settling with whatever audio came out of them. Not now! I’m upgrading, baby!
All that I’m waiting on is the audio interface to be able to connect to my PC and I’m set to record season 2 of the Shawnee Rising Podcast!
This is what I want to do with my life full-time and it’s because of amazingly awesome people out there that believe in what I do that keeps me going.
I am forever grateful.
Niyawe! Thank you!
