One Week Open and Looking to the Future!

One week in and I have received such awesome feedback and compliments on the shop and art pieces. I want to thank everybody for such kind words. There’s not a lot right now, but there’s more still to come!

Online Studio Plans

Like I said in the last post, there are plans to bring soaps and possibly some candles into the shop. There will definitely be more artwork and jewelry pieces coming. Right now, I’m just focusing on affordable earrings that people can purchase, but soon I will be making some more expensive earrings using sterling silver wire and dangle feathers.

I will also be making some pendants made from sterling silver, which will include some precious stones, like turquois and garnets. These will be handcrafted, one of kind pieces that I think people will fall in love with. So, keep an eye out for those to drop in the future.

My biggest goal for the shop right now is to get it filled up with artwork and handcrafted creations. I want there to be pages of items to choose from, and I want to get as close to that goal as possible by the beginning of the year, 2022. Some people might think, “Oh, well you have quite a while to get that done,” but if you procrastinate as much as I do, then you know it’s not that much time.

YouTube Channel

I have a ton of plans for my vlog (video blog) on YouTube: a two part series on the process of making my own paper for the first time, health and wellness journey, family time, various challenges, and much more! I can’t wait to start shooting my first video.

My only issue at the moment is internet access. The only internet access I have is the hotspot on my phone, which doesn’t allow me to upload videos in a timely manner…it’s horrible. I would be looking at many hours of upload time for one video. So, I will have to make a special trip to a place that has Wi-Fi and upload videos. It just won’t be possible where I live using my hotspot. Maybe one day they will have decent internet access for those in the country…maybe.

My biggest goal for the channel is to be able to inspire others, whether it be creatively, getting healthy, or some other way. I want people to be able to watch one of my videos and be inspired to get up do something; get out a notebook and write or draw, build something, start a health and wellness journey of their own, or even just spend more time with family.

But, before I can that, I have to get my butt in gear and start my health journey, which I am. My wife and I are gonna start walking and working out here pretty soon. I’m going to try and record as much as the process as I can, struggles and all. I want people to see that you can work through the struggles and come out on the other side.

Shawnee Rising Podcast

Shawnee Rising Podcast is going good. I’m extremely happy with how it’s going and I have gotten a lot of feedback on it. I’m still struggling a little with getting the right audio volume down, but it all seems to be going pretty well. At the time of this writing, I have currently published eight (8) episodes. My first season will be ten (10) episodes long.

Why am I doing seasons? Mainly to keep track of how I grow or change over time. I want each season to be a little different and to add something new, and I want people to know that they can expect something new every season.

That’s the plan anyway…

My biggest goal for the Shawnee Rising Podcast is to start adding segments into the episodes. I do Shawnee word of the day once in a while, but won’t do those too often. I want to add some short skits, some music, poetry or short stories, just some things I’m working on. I want to be able to break up the monotony of just hearing me talk, which I know is the whole purpose of a podcast, but I want it to be entertaining with various types of content.

I still have plans to do some interviews in the future, but that won’t be until I can get some new audio equipment to be able to go mobile, hook up more than one microphone, and be able to record over-the-phone interviews.

Ranting will still be a part of it all. Sometimes I just need to clear my head and the podcast is still the medium I’m using to get things off of my chest, which was the only reason I made a podcast in the first place, but I just can’t help but spin some art content into it.

So, the podcast has become a place for all types of content, which is okay with me. I’m just letting become what it wants to be.
