Changes are happening all over the site, starting with the addition of my shop page with sub-menu links to my off-site shops like Threadless and Society6. The only products that have been added are my books, located on lulu.com, and will be all you see for the time being until I begin creating and posting works to the shop.
It’s happening, folks! Everything is finally coming together and my shop is beginning to take shape.
These last few weeks have been crazy. I’ve made changes to the theme on my site like four times, and spent more money this last week trying to get the things I need to make my website and the shop looking just right; a little more like home.
It’s been a challenge getting back to where I need to be to finally begin creating again, and I couldn’t have done any of it without such an amazing and understanding wife. She encourages my passion for art and sharing of my culture.

I’ve got somewhat of a work area now and can really begin creating again. I’ve been waiting for a good work area and I think this one will do for now. I still don’t have tons of time to do what I want while renovating my mother-in-law’s home before moving on to get our tiny home built, but I’m going to fit time into it all to settle down and create my work, which I missed a lot.
I’ve still got plans to start a video blog on YouTube to capture some of the struggles of becoming a full-time artist and to capture some family time in order to keep a record of memories we can look back on, but only after other major changes.
I still have plans to do funny challenges with my wife, as well as recording my fitness journey. I’m about to begin a long, hard journey to bettering myself physically and mentally and I think it would be awesome to have people follow along. I’m still preparing the best way to do that, and I think the keto diet will be my best bet since I’ve lost weight on it before. But I want to work out, and the keto diet isn’t the best diet for working out on. So I’ve heard anyway…
But I have lots of research still and I’ll update everyone when I start. So stay tuned…
Some other plans for Shawnee Rising Studios would be the addition of a podcast. It’s a dream of mine to be able to create a native oriented podcast in order to speak about more personal things that I wouldn’t otherwise talk about here in the blog or on YouTube, as well as having guests. Artists, authors, vloggers; all telling their own stories of how they got to where they are and what their influence may be on others.
I would hope to inspire other Natives, especially children, to keep moving forward and to keep reaching for their dreams. It’s my hope that with Shawnee Rising Studios I can represent my Shawnee people humbly and authentically, and that’s what I want for others as well.
I’ve already set up the podcast site for The Shawnee Rising Podcast on Podbean, which has a free account version that allows up to ten podcast uploads. I’ll wait and see how things turn out before upgrading the account to an unlimited version, which is only $9/month. Hit up and follow the podcast and be notified when I upload my first podcast. Just know it’s still in the works and will be a while before there are any episodes available.

Like I’ve said before, I have plans for Shawnee Rising Studios. Some plans may come to fruition and others may not, but I’m going to make sure I give it 100% before letting it go.
I know it seems like I’m putting a lot on my plate, but I have lost a lot of time after losing my last computer and having to move. I got absolutely nothing done in the last few months, and I’m still struggling to find the time to create work.
But I will do it!
I’ve promised myself that I wouldn’t wait anymore. I’ve procrastinated long enough telling myself I could never do it. In the year 2020 comes 20/20 vision and changes are coming! I’m looking to the future and I see a place where I want me and my family to be.
That’s where I’m going. I hope to see you there.
NEYIWA! Thank You!
