There’s nothing I want more than to always be here for my son.
As an artist, I sit on my butt a lot and I usually don’t like moving from my chair, especially when I have ideas flowing.
But I have constant problems with lower back pain, and I know without a doubt that it’s caused from sitting on my butt all day long.
So, my wife and I have been looking for an easy diet and exercise program or book that would help get our lives on track to a healthier life, and there’s one book that helped tremendously.
The Complete Ketogenic Diet for Beginners:
Your Essential Guide to Living the Keto Lifestyle
This book is awesome!
And it’s FREE to those who are subscribed to a Kindle Unlimited Membership Plan
My wife and I tried the keto diet for the first time at the beginning of the year and we absolutely loved it.
The keto diet (or ketogenic diet) is a low carb, high-fat diet that promotes a diet of fresh whole foods; foods like meat, veggies, fish, and healthy oils. It also reduces the use of processed or chemically treated food products.
It also comes with a two-week meal plan, complete with a shopping list!
I’ve personally lost 10lbs in the first two weeks of being on the keto diet. But, like most diets, I fell off and just never got back on again.
But, my wife and I are working hard to get back on a diet, and The Complete Ketogenic Diet for Beginners is what we’re turning to for help.
What’s so great about this book?
Well, for one, you don’t have to starve yourself. I was eating a healthy portion of meats, vegetables, and a very small amount of dairy; all low carb, high-fat meals.
It was a diet that didn’t feel like a diet. It was amazing!
I felt great. I slept better. And I had zero back pain because I had the energy to WANT to get up and walk around.
Unfortunately, I’ve gained the weight back, plus a few more pounds and my back pain is back at it again.
But, with my family as motivation, I’m going to get back on that diet…and stay on it this time!
I know I can do it, and I know my wife can do it.
Because I know that together WE can do anything!
So, I was told to look at a book called The Clean 20 by Ian K. Smith, M.D.
The Clean 20: 20 Foods, 20 Days, Total Transformation
He is a #1 New York Times bestselling author of SHRED, SUPER SHRED, The SHRED Power Cleanse, and Blast the Sugar Out.
His books and diet plans seem to be very successful.
This book focuses on clean eating, which my wife has been into for quite a while.
She’s been really wanting to get back into clean eating again so this book might be nice to have. I think she would like it.
“Dr. Ian knows what works: it’s not eliminating food groups, but choosing foods within each group wisely to satisfy the palate and the body’s nutritional demands. The Clean 20 isn’t just vegetables. Grains are in. And so is fruit, fat, meat and fish. When palate and nutrition are in sync, weight loss not only follows, it sticks. The Clean 20 is a life and body changer.”

This book has a lot of good reviews on Amazon.
I think it’s worth a buy.
Check it out and let me know what you think!
This last book is just something that caught my attention, especially as an artist.
I thought I would add it to the list for those that are interested.

I’ll definitely put a review up if I decide to get The Clean 20 and The Happy, Healthy Artist.
But, if you get either of the books or have already used one of the books on your own health journey, let know what you thought and how it worked out for you. I would love to hear back from you.
A healthy life is, and should be, important to everyone. It’s especially important to me to be around for my wife and son for as long as possible.
I want to be able to play with my son as he gets older without having to take a breather every few steps. My family has a history of cancer and heart disease, and I want to do whatever I can in my power to keep my body strong enough to fight off those killers.
I hope this post has been helpful, and I hope that if you’re planning your own journey to a healthier lifestyle or are currently on that path, that you are successful in reaching your goals.
I wish you the best of luck.
